Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)

What is UCEED Exam?

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is an annual examination administered by IIT Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee. Its primary purpose is to facilitate admission to Bachelor of Design (BDes) programs at institutions that accept UCEED scores.

UCEED is a three-hour examination typically held in January each year. It's essential to note that merely taking the UCEED exam or achieving a position in the UCEED rank list doesn't automatically guarantee admission to BDes programs. Candidates who successfully clear the UCEED exam must follow a separate application process as prescribed by IIT Bombay. Admission to BDes courses is determined by merit within each category, with the merit list being compiled based on candidates' performance in the written entrance examination.

Aspiring candidates can review UCEED statistics to gain insight into the high level of competition associated with this design entrance exam.

UCEED Syllabus

Topics from which questions are asked in Part-A of UCEED exam include: · Visualization and Spatial Ability · Observation and Design Sensitivity · Environmental and Social Awareness · Analytical and Logical Reasoning · Language and Creativity · Design Thinking and Problem Solving

UCEED Part-B syllabus includes a drawing question that will test a candidate's ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
